May the Truth Be Spoken

As I came across the scripture reading for today, it really hit close to my heart and so I have decided that despite what anyone may say or do I am going to blog about what I am feeling. On Christmas Day 2007 - Herb, Anthony, Seth and I were supposed to gather bright and early at Herb's niece's house for a Christmas Tradition, well we were supposed to be there by 10:00am (Herb's niece lives in Miami which is approximately 3.0 hrs away from our home). Needless to say we could not make it at that particular time but instead of not going at all we decided that even though we were running really late we would still make the drive. Too make a long story short, we ended up getting there late but we finally arrived.

Upon arriving at Herb's niece house, we were greeted by herb's sister and her family and his nephew. Upon entering the home, most of the family members had already left but yet I could feel alot of tension in the air. Keep in mind, I have been married into this family for 15yrs - this is not the first problem that I have had but yet to bring happiness into my marriage, I have tried to not cause any waves but sometimes it is really really difficult.

There is alot more that took place but I will refrain from blogging about it at this time. To be honest I am still very upset about the whole thing and I truly, truly, truly need to let it go. I have been praying about this situation since it happened and the Lord keeps speaking to me about Love and Peace. It's just so hard sometimes to do what Jesus would do without the guidance of the Holy Spirit. I just pray that the Lord continue to give me grace and peace with this whole situation. I am not blogging about this to blame anyone or anything but I do think that everyone involved in this situation needs to come full circle, set the pride to the side, speak about their hurts, their feelings and just get past this. I know I do and I so ever need the Lord to help me.

This is the scripture reading that came to me today - which is what ignited me to blog about what is so heavy in my heart. Thank You Jesus for always working behind the scenes in my life.

Choose Peace

Today's Scripture

“Strive to live in peace with everybody and pursue that consecration and holiness without which no one will [ever] see the Lord” (Hebrews 12:14).

Today's Word

Holiness is so important to God. The Bible says that holiness is the key to seeing the Lord. When you obey the Word of God and allow Him to work in your life, you are pursuing holiness. You will see the Lord working in your life. Notice this verse starts by saying that we should live at peace with the people around us. When we have peace in our lives, in our homes, and in our relationships, it opens the door for God to work. But when we have strife, bitterness, anger or resentment in our relationships, it blocks God’s blessing. Remember, when it comes to disagreements in relationships, it doesn’t always matter who is right, it matters what is right. And choosing peace is right. Is there someone in your life today that you need to restore peace with? A simple act of kindness, a note or small gift, can open the door for restoration in your relationships. Step out today and let the peace create a foundation for the blessing God has in store for you!

A Prayer for Today

Father in Heaven, today I open my heart to You. I choose Your way of peace. Show me how to live at peace with the people in my life so that I can honor You in everything I do. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.

I Love Today's Scripture - So True

Separate Yourself

Today's Scripture

“So whoever cleanses himself [from what is ignoble and unclean, who separates himself…be a vessel set apart and useful for honorable and noble purposes…” (II Timothy 2:21).

Today's Word

Are there people or activities in your life that you know you need to separate yourself from? The Bible says that bad company will corrupt good morals. God wants you to constantly be growing and rising higher in life. That’s why this verse encourages us to separate ourselves from corrupting influences. And those influences are more than just the people in your everyday life. The influences are anything that influence your thinking. Be careful about what you are allowing into your mind. Be careful about what you read and what you watch. Don’t give your attention to things that are going to drag you down. Choose to separate yourself today. Remember. God wants you to live an abundant life. He wants you be separate so that He can work through you and fulfill his purposes in you life. As you cleanse yourself God will work in and through you so that you can live as an over comer the way God intends!

A Prayer for Today

Heavenly Father, thank you for your Word which is the Truth that sets me free. Give me strength to separate myself from anything that does not honor You. In Jesus Name. Amen.

From one mean mom to another

Mean Moms Someday when my children are old enough to understand the logic that motivates a parent, I will tell them, as my Mean Mom told me: I loved you enough to ask where you were going, with whom, and what time you would be home. I loved you enough to be silent and let youdiscover that your new best friend was a creep.I loved you enough to stand over you fortwo hours while you cleaned your room, a job that should have taken 15 minutes. I loved you enough to let you see anger, disappointment, and tears in my eyes. Children must learn that their parents aren't perfect.. I loved you enough to let you assume the responsibility for your actions even when thepenalties were so harsh they almost broke my heart. But most of all, I loved you enough to say NO when I knew you would hate me for it.Those were the most difficult battles of all. I'm glad I won them, because in the end you won, too. And someday when your children are old enough tounderstand the logic that motivates parents, you will tell them. Was your Mom mean? I know mine was. We had the meanest mother in the whole w orld! While other kids ate candy for breakfast,we had to have cereal, eggs, and toast. When others had a Pepsi and a Twinkie for lunch,we had to eat sandwiches. And you can guess our mother fixed us a dinner that was different from what other kids had, too. Mother insisted on knowing where we were at all times. You'd think we were convicts in a prison. She had to know who our friends wereand what we were doing with them. She insisted that if we said wewould be gone for an hour, we would be gone for an hour or less. We were ashamed to admit it, but she had the nerve to break the Child Labor Laws by making us work. We had to wash the dishes, make the beds, learn to cook, vacuum the floor, do laundry, empty the trash and all sorts of cruel jobs.I think she would lie awake at night thinking of more things for us to do. She always insisted on us telling the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth.By the time we were teenagers, she could read our minds and had eyes in the back of her head. Then, life was really tough!

Mother wouldn't let our friends just honk the horn when they drove upThey had to come up to the door so she could meet them. While everyone else could date when they were 12 or 13, we had to wait until we were 16. Because of our mother we missed out on lots of things other kids experienced. None of us have ever been caught shoplifting, vandalizing other's property or ever arrested for any crime. It was all her fault. Now that we have left home, we are all educated, honest adults.

We are doing our best to be mean parents just like Mom was.I think that is what's wrong with the world today. It just doesn't have enough mean moms!

Keep Askng

Today's scripture reading is for me and all the people waiting to adopt their little person from China. The wait time is horrendous, but keep the spirit of expectancy and believe that our good Lord is working behind the scenes to unite you and me to our precious little ones. May these words fill your hearts with hope and encouragement.

Today's Scripture

“For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened” (Matthew 7:8).

Today's Word

Is there something you are believing God for? Does it seem like it’s taking a long time to come to pass? Be encouraged today! The Bible says that through faith and patience you will inherit the promise. You can trust that God’s Word is true. Submit your prayers to the Lord, and keep an attitude of faith and expectancy. Keep asking. Keep seeking. Keep knocking on the door, and it will be opened to you. It may seem like it’s taking a long time, but know this: God is working behind the scenes on your behalf. He is orchestrating things in your favor. He is perfecting whatever concerns you. Don’t give up! Start thanking God for His faithfulness in your life. As you stay faithful in your prayers and thanksgiving, the Lord will move mightily on your behalf. He’ll take you places that you’ve never dreamed, and you will live the life of victory He has in store for you!

A Prayer for Today

Father in heaven, thank You for giving me a diligent spirit. Thank You for Your faithfulness. Give me strength to stand until I see Your promises fulfilled in my life. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.

New Places

Today's Scripture:

"You have not passed this way before” (Joshua 3:4).

Today's Word

God desires to take you into new places in your life. He wants to take you to deeper places in your walk with Him, and He wants to take you into higher places of blessing in your life. Are you ready to go to places that you’ve never been before? So many people today get stuck in a rut because they don’t want to get out of their comfort zone. They want to stay with what they know because it’s comfortable. But in order for you to reach your full potential, you have to be willing to step out into the unknown. You won’t ever walk on water until you step out of the boat! We all have areas we can rise higher in. Open your heart today and be ready to step out into the unknown. Trust that the Lord will guide and order your every step. Begin to expect that the unexpected is on the way. Be ready to step out into new places. As you approach your day with faith and expectancy, you will move forward in the abundant life He has for you!

A Prayer for Today

Heavenly Father, thank You for bringing me increase in every area of my life. Thank You for taking me to new places. I expect that You are working behind the scenes in my life, and I open my heart to all You have for me. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.
